Clients are urged to make payments before your appointment but must be made before leaving your appointment. Paying before cuts down on confusion as well as additional time needed at the end of the appointment, which you will be charged,
A valid credit card/debit card is required to schedule an appointment. Card will only be charged if payment is not made by client before leaving appointment. There will be an additional 10% added to charges processed through the system.
No additional charges for Zelle payments made before leaving appointment. Card card payments,
PayPal, Cash App, and Venmo may incur an additional charge of up to 4% even if paid by client.
Payments can be made using phone number (773)495-2691 or info@curlscoilslocdornot.com. Cash is accepted but it must be exact change--we do not offer change or credits.
All new clients should schedule a free 15 minute phone or virtual consultation before an in-person visit. This allows us to talk and helps to know if an in-person visit is needed.
If you are a transfer Sisterlocks/Brotherlocks, interloc(k)s, or any type of loc(k) or braid client and you prefer a free 15 minute phone consultation, please send current pictures of your hair for me to reference. I would like to see your length, how much new growth, size of loc(k)s, and any troubling areas.
We operate from our home based salon. This allows us to provide early morning appointments, great pricing, and most importantly privacy. Only the person receiving service will be allowed inside.
We are located in north Maywood near Chicago Avenue and 1st Avenue. Exact address is given the day before a new appointment upon client confirming.
Prices for services are listed on the Services and Priceing page as well as on the booking items when making an appointment. For special pricing, an in-person or virtual consultation may be required. Sisterlocks, all other loc(k)s, braids, extensions, and color services require special pricing and a consultation.

Yes. There are certain locking techniques that will allow you to start the locking process with a small amount of new growth. Note, relaxed hair will not lock and will need to be cut as hair grows. This allows for client to keep their length while their hair grows.
Yes. Coloring hair may actually help the locking process but some locking methods may require no products to be used during the early stage of the locking process. This means there may be a wait time before getting new growth colored.
The products that you can use and when you can use them, is based on what kind of loc(k)s you have.
Sisterlocks TM or any interlocks, should not use any products on their hair in the early stage of locking. Using products before loc(k)s have settled--including hair color, will likely cause loc(k)s to slip or come undone. This will result in the hair possibly not locking, not locking properly, and/or additional time and charges for maintenance.
At the appropriate time of the locking process, clients should use quality products that will not cause build-up. Consult with stylist for what products may be best for you.
